On April 2, 2026, China UnionPay unveiled its Agentic Payment Open Protocol (APOP) framework in Shanghai, opening a new era of payments based on interaction between people and agents. It also completed the first validation transactions in production systems, laying a solid foundation for the agent payment ecosystem. As a leading company in automotive cockpit AI, JDO was invited to join the initial group of 19 domestic and international APOP framework partners. Together with China UnionPay, Zhipu, and VOYAH, it gave the global debut of the “Xiaodou Treats You to Coffee” in-vehicle agent payment demonstration in a VOYAH Dream MPV at the launch event. This breakthrough application of a cockpit-native payment agent demonstrated APOP's core values of direct intent fulfillment, security, and trust, setting a new benchmark for intelligent payments in mobility and highlighting JDO's leading capabilities in integrating automotive AI and payments.

UnionPay's APOP framework is an open framework designed specifically for the agent payment ecosystem. It addresses three key challenges of agent payments: trust in identity, intent, and process. Through four core capabilities—agent identity management, intent management, user identity management, and payment authorization management—it establishes a unified trust mechanism and interaction model, enabling ecosystem participants to join agent payment processes seamlessly, securely, and on a plug-and-play basis. At the launch, JDO, UnionPay, Zhipu, and VOYAH used this framework to demonstrate the complete “Xiaodou Treats You to Coffee” experience in the intelligent cockpit of a VOYAH Dream luxury MPV. Guests in the vehicle gave JDO's in-vehicle agent Xiaodou the open-ended natural-language request, “I'd like a coffee.” Through collaboration between Zhipu's GLM large model and JDO Canghai AI Core, Xiaodou quickly understood the need, selected merchants, and compared options. With support from APOP, it automatically completed the full process, including identity verification and payment authorization, finishing the purchase in just tens of seconds and demonstrating “ordering with one sentence, from intent directly to payment.”

The demonstration marked the first public appearance of JDO's cockpit-native payment agent in a production-grade vehicle, as well as a successful in-vehicle application of APOP's technical capabilities. It removed the cumbersome steps of traditional in-car payments, including switching apps, manual entry, and repeated confirmations, by making payments a native cockpit service integrated into the complete “perception – decision – action” loop. The agent became a key connection between users, vehicles, and mobility services, while enriching the intelligent “third space” experience of the premium VOYAH Dream MPV and demonstrating APOP's flexibility and security in practical applications.
The successful deployment of “Xiaodou Treats You to Coffee” resulted from close technological and ecosystem collaboration among three parties, each contributing its expertise. As an anchor company in cockpit AI, JDO provided the core cockpit agent technology and the Xiaodou in-vehicle agent. Drawing on more than a decade of cockpit engineering experience and its Canghai large model, it handled user intent interpretation, task decomposition, service orchestration, and automotive-grade safe execution, providing the demonstration's core technical support. China UnionPay contributed APOP's four core capabilities, with compliance, control, and security as guiding principles, providing end-to-end transaction trust, compliance and risk controls, and payment clearing support to address the underlying trust challenge in agent payments. Zhipu provided the GLM large model as a foundation for deep understanding of natural language, open-ended intent, and complex situations, as well as logical decision-making, enabling Xiaodou to identify user needs accurately and make service decisions efficiently. The close alignment between APOP's technical principles and JDO's cockpit payment agent formed the central connection for their cooperation.

Through APOP, JDO's Xiaodou agent receives a standardized identity, user intent is converted into structured and verifiable instructions, and payment authorization becomes fully traceable. This enables in-vehicle payments to offer plug-and-play, seamless integration while remaining compliant, controllable, secure, and trusted. It directly reflects APOP's principles of open interconnection and broad compatibility, helping participants join the agent payment ecosystem at minimal cost and with a smooth integration path, while accommodating the continued evolution of payment services.
With 12 years of experience in intelligent cockpits, JDO serves more than 30 major automakers, operates in more than 10 million production vehicles, and holds over 400 core intellectual property assets. Its cooperation with VOYAH brings APOP capabilities into production vehicles at an early stage, marking a key step from technical demonstration toward practical use of in-vehicle agent payments. JDO will continue deepening cooperation, drawing on APOP's technical foundation to expand payment use cases while accelerating OEM integration and production deployment at scale for its cockpit-native payment agent. It will also contribute to the development of APOP's automotive standards and risk-control systems, supporting a controllable, secure, and trusted agent payment ecosystem.
JDO founder and CEO Wang Yifei said that AI is reshaping how users interact with mobility services. In-vehicle agent payments can complete the end-to-end intelligent cockpit service process, transforming the cockpit from a means of transportation into a value-generating endpoint that offers convenient services across a full range of use cases, improving both user experience and ecosystem value. The launch of UnionPay's APOP framework provides a standardized bridge for secure, compliant deployment of agent payments and adds critical momentum to the automotive AI ecosystem. Building on this foundation, JDO will continue innovating at the intersection of automotive AI and payments, working with ecosystem partners and drawing on its technical strengths to bring intelligent, secure, and convenient in-vehicle payment services to tens of millions of vehicles. Together, they will build an open, controllable, secure, and trusted agent payment ecosystem and support high-quality development of the intelligent economy.
